The Sensium™ Life Platform is suitable for a wide range of health and fitness applications ‘out of hospital’ and enables the rapid development and accelerated time-to-market of complete systems and devices for non intrusive wireless vital signs monitoring.

The platform includes ultra low power wireless sensor nodes, USB/UART base station (or gateway) for up to 8 sensor nodes, source code and example firmware and software for easy integration with Windows XP/Vista or embedded host systems. All circuitry and sensors for continuous wireless monitoring of heart rate, ECG (single lead), physical activity via integrated 3 axis accelerometer and temperature via integrated medical grade thermistor are included. Additional functions, extra sensors and proprietary algorithms (e.g. for R to R peak detection) are simple to integrate and run on the Platform. The platform has been designed and developed under Toumaz’s ISO13485 quality system and documentation and support for regulatory compliance with EU and/or FDA medical device requirements is available as a platform option. To complete the development of a proven “own-brand” wireless monitoring system, the manufacturer simply needs to add customised ergonomic enclosures and integrate the Life Platform with their host system application.
